Fastener Tightening Specifications
1. Use a scraper to clean the gasket surface of the cylinder head and block assembly.
2. Make sure that the gasket has the proper identification mark for the engine.
3. Lay the cylinder head gasket on the cylinder block with the identification mark at the front top.
CAUTION: Be careful that no foreign material gets into the cylinder, coolant passages or oil passages. Engine damage may result.
4. Using a 10 mm hex wrench and a torque wrench, tighten the bolts in two or three cycles to 105-115 Nm (76-83 ft. lbs.) in the order shown in the illustration.
NOTE: Install the head bolt washers as shown with shear droop upward.
