Removal
During overhaul procedures, ensure all openings are plugged to prevent entry of foreign material. Do not tilt compressor more than 45 degrees in any direction for more than 10 minutes as this may cause lubricating oil to enter the cylinder, and if compressor were to be operated in this condition, damage would result. To expel oil from cylinder, manually operate compressor while installed in vehicle.

1. Retain clutch plate using tool No. KV99231010, Fig. 23, then remove clutch assembly to shaft center bolt.

2. Thread tool No. KV99232232 into clutch hub bore, then while retaining clutch plate, rotate tool until clutch disc can be removed, Fig. 24.
3. Remove clutch disc, collar and adjusting shims, then flatten lock washer tab using a suitable tool.

4. Remove locknut using tool No. KV99235160, then the lock washer, Fig. 25.
5. Remove pulley and bearing assembly using a suitable puller, if necessary.
6. Loosen coil mounting screws using a suitable tool, then the key and clutch coil.
