Fig. 15 Main Bearing Caps Bolt Loosening Sequence:

1. Remove engine outer components, Fig. 14.
2. Place engine on suitable workstand.
3. Remove timing belt as previously described.
4. Drain coolant and engine oil.
5. Remove water pump.
6. Remove oil pan, as previously described, and the oil pump.
7. Remove cylinder heads as previously described.
8. Remove pistons.
9. Remove bearing caps and crankshaft, loosening attaching bolts in sequence, Fig. 15.
