Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Testing and Inspection

Air Flow Meter Test:

1. Pull back the rubber insulator on the air flow meter connector.
2. Start engine and warm to operating temperature.
3. Using a volt meter, check voltage between terminal D and ground.
There should be:
^1.0 - 1.3 volts at idle.
^Less than 0.5 volt w/key on and engine stopped.
^Voltage should change from approximately 0 volts to 5 volts when racing the engine.
If not, check the hot wire for damage or dust and replace the meter if faulty.
