Fig. 84 Main Bearing Bolt Tightening Sequence. Except 1989 Maxima & 1990-93 300ZX:

1. Install main bearings, Fig. 81, crankshaft and bearing cap. Tighten attaching bolts to specifications in sequence, Fig. 84. in 2 or 3 steps.

Fig. 85 Piston Ring Positioning:

2. Install piston assemblies with rings properly positioned, Fig. 85.
3. Reverse remainder of engine disassembly procedure to complete assembly, noting the following:

Fig. 90 Intake Manifold Bolt Tightening Sequence. 1990-93 Pathfinder & Pickup:

a. Tighten cylinder head attaching bolts to specifications using sequence shown in Fig. 86.
b. Tighten intake manifold attaching bolts in sequence, Fig. 90 to specifications in 2 or 3 steps.
