Fuel Pump: Description and Operation

Fuel Tank Assembly:

PURPOSE
Provides pressurized fuel to the injectors.

LOCATION
Submerged in the fuel tank.

CONSTRUCTION
It consists of a motor, a vane roller pump, a fuel damper, and a relief valve to prevent system damage from over pressure. The fuel pump shares its mounting cage with the fuel gauge sending unit.

The fuel pump is not serviceable, the fuel tank must be lowered to replace the pump.
