A replacement FX-15 compressor contains seven fluid ounces of oil. Before installing the replacement compressor, drain oil from old compressor into a measured container. Drain refrigerant oil from the new compressor into a measured container. If the amount of oil that was removed from the old compressor is greater than five ounces, pour five ounces of clean refrigerant oil into the new compressor discharge port. If old compressor has between three and five ounces of oil, pour the same amount of clean oil into the compressor.
When replacing any other A/C system component, refer to Fig. 21 for amount of oil that needs to be added.
