Power Steering Pressure Switch: Description and Operation

Power Steering Pressure (PSP) Switch:

PURPOSE
To signal the ECM when the pressure increases (indicating extra engine load). The ECM can then compensate for the load by sending a signal to the Idle Air Control-Auxiliary Air Control (IACV-ACC) Valve.

LOCATION
The power steering load switch is mounted in the power steering high-pressure line next to the passegner's side shock tower.
