Keyless Entry: Description and Operation

The door lock touchpad is located on the outer panel of the LH front door. It is used to input the codes to the electronic door lock control processor.

The electronic door lock control processor is located behind the control console, below and to the left of the anti-lock brake control module. The electronic door lock control processor is a microcomputer programmed to control the functions of the electronic door lock control system. It receives and sends signals between the various sensors and components.

Functions:

Unlocks the LH front door
Unlocks the RH front door
Unlocks the body side door
Unlocks the liftgate
Looks all the doors
Illuminates the door look touchpad after any door lock touchpad button is depressed

The electronic door lock control processor will also accept and store an owner's personal entry code. This is the only code that will operate the electronic door lock control system.

The keyless entry beeper is located behind the LH front door trim panel. The keyless entry beeper performs two functions:

Acts as a warning beeper if the 7/8 and 910 door lock touchpad buttons are pressed simultaneously while the key is in the ignition switch.

Alerts the operator of the five-second time limit in programming a personal code number once the permanent entry code number is entered.

The timer module activates the interior lamps once a door is opened.
