Camshaft Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection

Camshaft Position Sensor Test:

1. Remove distributor from engine. (Camshaft position sensor (CMPS) harness connector should remain connected.)
2. Turn ignition switch "ON".

Camshaft Position Sensor Test:

3. Rotate distributor shaft slowly by hand and check voltage between terminals 3, 4 and ground.

Camshaft Position Sensor Signal Plate:

4. Visually check signal plate for damage or dust.

If NG, replace distributor assembly with camshaft position sensor.
