Throttle Position Sensor: Adjustments
If throttle position sensor or closed throttle position switch is replaced or removed, it is necessary to install it in the proper position, by the procedure below:
1. Install Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) on throttle body. Do not tighten bolts. Leave bolts loose.
2. Connect throttle position sensor and closed throttle position switch harness connectors.
3. Start engine and warm it up sufficiently.
4. Disconnect closed throttle position switch harness connector and Idle Air Control Valve-Auxiliary Air Control (IAC-AAC) valve sub-harness connector.
5. Check closed throttle position switch "OFF" -> "ON" speed with circuit tester, closing throttle valve manually.
Closed throttle position switch OFF -> ON speed 1100 +/- 100 rpm (A/T in "N" position).
6. Tighten Bolts, reconnect throttle position sensor and auxiliary air control valve harness connectors.
