SERVICE INFORMATION

If the keyless remote transmitter for a 1996 Quest intermittently will not operate a vehicle's locks unless you are very close (less than 3 feet from the vehicle), the likely cause is high radio frequency waves in that area.

There is a countermeasure smart entrance control module available to improve the reception of the remote transmitter in these areas.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Check the battery in the remote transmitter.

2. Replace if necessary then go to step 3.





3. If the condition persists, replace the smart entrance control module with the 1997 model year part number below.
