Component Testing Procedure

DESCRIPTION




When the gear position is "P" or "N", park/neutral position switch is "ON".
ECM detects the park/neutral position when continuity with ground exists.

OVERALL FUNCTION CHECK
Use this procedure to check the overall function of the park/ neutral position switch circuit. During this check, a DTC might not be confirmed.

With Consult
(1) Turn ignition switch "ON".




(2) Perform "PARK/NEUT POSI SW CKT" in "FUNCTION TEST" mode with CONSULT

OR

With Consult




(2) Select "P/N POSI SW" in "DATA MONITOR" mode with CONSULT.




(3) Check the "P/N POSI SW" signal under the above conditions.

OR

Without Scan Tools
(1) Turn ignition switch "ON".







(2) Check voltage between ECM terminal (22) and body ground under the conditions above.
