1997 QUEST, INTERMITTENT DTC P0745 (LINE PRESSURE SOLENOID) DUE TO TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE

SERVICE INFORMATION

If a 1997 Quest has a MIL "ON" with DTC P0745 (line pressure solenoid) stored in the ECM, the cause may be in the Transmission Control Module (TCM). This incident may occur more frequently during high ambient temperature conditions.

A countermeasure TCM is now available to correct this incident.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Perform trouble diagnosis steps A through C on page AT-98 of the 1997 Quest Service Manual to verify harness.








A. If diagnosis steps A through C reveal a problem, perform the necessary repairs as indicated. After completing the repairs, verify the TCM production date (see Figure 1). If the date is before 3/10/97 replace the TCM with a countermeasure unit (see Figure 2).

B. If diagnosis steps A through C do not reveal a problem, verify the TCM production date (see Figure 1) and if the date is before 3/10/97 replace the TCM with a countermeasure unit (see Figure 2).

NOTE:
When verifying the TCM production date, please note that there were two different TCM part numbers installed on 1997 Quest vehicles (31036-1B100 and 31036-1B101). Part number 31036-1B100 is an early TCM and must be replaced regardless of the production date. Part number 31036-1B101 is a later TCM and is only replaced if the production date is before 3/10/97.
