Service Procedure

The service procedure involves three steps:

^ Isolate the incident.

^ Download the ECM Reprogramming data from ASIST to CONSULT-II.

^ Install the ECM Reprogramming data into the vehicle ECM.

Isolate the incident.

1. Perform Self-Diagnosis using CONSULT-II. Print and attach the Freeze Frame data to the repair order.

2. Using the appropriate Service Manual procedure, perform "DTC Confirmation" (using CONSULT-II). If a leak is determined, use the appropriate Service Manual procedure to repair the vehicle.

3. Regardless of whether or not a leak was found, proceed to "Download the ECM Reprogramming data from ASIST to CONSULT-II."

Download the ECM Reprogramming Data from ASIST to CONSULT-II and Install the ECM Reprogramming Data into the vehicle ECM.

CAUTION:
The ECM can be permanently damaged if the reprogramming procedure is not performed correctly.

4. The detailed instructions for this part of the procedure can be found by referring to Attachment "A".

a. In ASIST go into Info Tool Box, then CONSULT Utilities, then ECM Data.

b. Select model/model year for the applied vehicle.

c. Select the applicable vehicle configuration for your vehicle from that listed in the upper right ECM data description window.

d. Click "Continue" button to download the new data from ASIST into CONSULT-II.

e. Perform download from CONSULT-II to the vehicle's ECM.

f. Using CONSULT-II access and print the new ECM P/N.

Do NOT submit a Section "EE" diagnostic Op Code on this claim. The FRT for DE98AA allows sufficient time for the required diagnosis and download.
