2001 PATHFINDER; MIL "ON" WITH REAR OXYGEN SENSOR DTC P0138-P0140 OR P0158-P0160 STORED

APPLIED VEHICLE:
2001 Pathfinder (R50)

SERVICE INFORMATION

If an applied vehicle has a MIL "ON" with one of the following DTCs stored:

^ P0138
^ P0139
^ P0140
^ P0158
^ P0159
^ P0160

The cause may be a broken or cracked rear oxygen sensor element.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Use CONSULT-II SELF DIAGNOSIS to determine the stored DTCs.

2. Replace the oxygen sensor at the incident cylinder bank(s) indicated by the stored DTC listed in CONSULT-II. Refer to the Parts Information section to determine the correct oxygen sensor to be installed.

3. Use CONSULT-II to determine the ECM P/N (in the vehicle).





A. If the ECM P/N is one of those listed under "CURRENT ECM P/N" in the table shown, reprogram the ECM to the "NEW ECM P/N" listed in the table.

B. If the ECM P/N is NOT one of those listed under "CURRENT ECM P/N" in the table, do not reprogram the ECM. Return the vehicle to the customer after replacing the oxygen sensors.
