Attachment B - ASIST PC & CONSULT-II Ethernet(IP)Address

Setting
(to be performed between steps 3 and 5 of Attachment A, only necessary if ASIST PC & CONSULT-II "Ethernet setup" has not been done)

NOTE:
This general procedure is for PCs running Microsoft(R) Windows 95 and Windows 98. For PCs running different "operating systems" (OS), some of these steps may look different.

NOTE:
An Ethernet Network card must be installed in your ASIST PC in order to do this procedure.

Set the Ethernet (IP) Address of the NISSAN ASIST PC and CONSULT-II as follows:

A. On the ASIST PC, click "Start", "Settings", "Control Panel", and then select "Network".





B. When the "Network/Configuration" screen appears (see Figure 1) select "TCP/IP". Then select "Properties".

C. Compare Figure 2, with the "TCP/IP Properties" screen on your ASIST PC.

^ If your ASIST "IP Address" and "Subnet Mask" appear EXACTLY as shown in Figure 2, click "Cancel" and close the "Control Panel" box. Now continue to step "D".





^ If your ASIST "IP Address" and "Subnet Mask" DO NOT appear EXACTLY as shown in Figure 2, you will need to change the numbers so that they do match. Click "OK", shut down the computer to reboot. This will save the new IP Address. Now continue to step "D".

NOTE:
There are no zeros in front of the numbers on this screen.

D. On CONSULT-II, touch "Configure Ethernet".





E. Check that your ASIST PC Ethernet (IP) "Address" is 192.168.001.002 and the "Mask" is 255.255.255.000 (see Figure 3).

NOTE:

^ If your Ethernet (IP) Address already matches the address shown in Figure 3, press "Copy" to print the Address for future reference. Then turn CONSULT-II OFF and proceed with step 5 in the bulletin.

^ If your Ethernet (IP) Address does not match the address shown in Figure 3, proceed with step "F" below to correctly set the CONSULT-II Ethernet (IP) address.





F. To change, touch the Address number on the CONSULT-II screen (titled "Configure Ethernet"). A "numbers" keypad will appear (see Figure 4).

G. Use the keypad to change the Address and Mask to the correct number.

H. Touch "Save" and then press "Copy" to print the Address for future reference.

I. Turn CONSULT-II OFF to allow the new address to be saved in memory.

J. Return to the bulletin and proceed with step 5.
