SERVICE INFORMATION:
If The Water Control Valve needs to be replaced with a new service part; the harness to the valve is no longer necessary and must be taped out of the way.
a. Disconnect the harness from the Water Control Valve.
b. Disconnect water control valve relay and secure harness.
c. Replace water control valve with service part in parts information table.
d. Remove harness clip from bracket.
e. Fold harness back over itself at next harness clip and tape loose section of harness at two points back to the undisturbed harness.
^ Fold unplugged harness connector under and tape doubled up harness at end to existing harness.
f. Disconnect Water Control Relay.

PROCEDURE TO REPLACE WATER CONTROL VALVE WITH SERVICE PART
CAUTION:
Confirm that cooling system has cooled down before performing procedure. Carefully remove pressure cap to release any remaining pressure.
1. Disconnect Water Control Valve harness connector and replace valve with service part found in parts information table.
NOTE:
Confirm that new valve is open before installing (Refer to Figure 3).
^ New service part shown in Figure 2.
2. Disconnect harness locating clip from Water Control Valve bracket.
3. Fold harness over itself at the next harness locating clip and apply tape to hold in place.
4. Fold end of harness back over itself and tape doubled over harness to existing harness.
5. Remove the Water Control Valve relay and discard.
^ The relay is located to the left of the steering column (Figure 6).
^ Uses connector M7 and is next to the Main harness ground M57.
^ Is a blue relay.
^ Wire colors to relay are Y/R, W/G, Y/G and Y/L.
> Tape the relay harness out of the way to prevent it from rattling.
6. Verify correct heater operation.
