Interior/Electrical - Switch Falls Into Console/Panel

2004-2006 TITAN AND ARMADA; SWITCH FALLS INTO CONSOLE/PANEL

APPLIED VEHICLE(S): 2004-2006 Titan (A60) and Armada (TA60)

IF YOU CONFIRM








Any of the below indicated switch assembly's fall into the dash panel or center console when pushed: (See Figures 1 - 4 above)

^ Seat Heater Switch

^ Differential Lock Switch

^ Tow Mode Switch

^ VDC Switch

^ Cargo Lamp Switch

^ Instrument Brightness Control

^ Power Lift Gate Switch (front and rear)

^ Pedal Adjustment Switch

^ Rear Sonar "OFF" Switch

^ Rear Power Window Switch

ACTION

Install a cable tie around the switch and adjacent mounting bracket.

NOTE:
This bulletin is a repair only procedure for switches and mounting tabs that are not broken. If switches and/or mounting tabs are broken, refer to the respective ESM.





PARTS INFORMATION

IMPORTANT:
The purpose of "ACTIONS" (above) is to give you a quick idea of the work you will be performing. You MUST closely follow the entire Service Procedure as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing this repair.





CLAIMS INFORMATION

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Remove the incident switch from the vehicle per the appropriate section
of the respective ESM.





2. Inspect the switch mounting tabs for each switch (see Figure 5)

If the switch mounting tabs are broken:

^ Do not apply the cable ties

^ Replace the broken part as required

3. If the switch mounting tabs are NOT broken:

^ Apply a cable tie over the switch and switch mounting tabs





^ Position the lock of the cable tie at a corner (See Figure 6).





4. Tighten the cable tie by using pliers (See Figure 7).





5. Confirm the cable tie holds the tabs and switches together by shaking the cable tie (see Figure 8).

6. Cut the extra cable end.

7. Install the removed parts to the vehicle. Confirm the switch assembly does not go into the dash panel or center console when pushed.
