CUP HOLDER DOOR WON'T STAY LATCHED DOWN

IF YOU CONFIRM

The cup holder door will not stay latched down.

ACTION

Replace the door latch using the one listed in the Parts Information.

NOTE:
Do not replace the center console cup holder door assembly for this incident, if it should occur.

IMPORTANT:
The purpose of "ACTION" (above) is to give you a quick idea of the work you will be performing. You MUST closely follow the entire Service Procedure as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing this repair.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Remove the A/T finisher. Refer to the appropriate section in the Service Manual for removal procedure.





2. Disconnect the harness connector.

3. Place the finisher on a soft clean surface to prevent damage to the surface of the A/T finisher.





4. Remove the door latch by pushing it forward.





5. Push tabs in on the new door latch:





6. Make sure the side of the door latch with the slot is facing down during installation. See Figure 4.





7. Install new door latch by pushing it through the hole until it clicks in place.

8 Reinstall A/T finisher in reverse order of removal.

9. Confirm the incident has been resolved.
