Cruise Test - Part 3
1.CHECK VEHICLE EQUIPMENT
Is vehicle equipped with manual mode shifter?
YES or NO?
YES - GO TO 2.
NO - GO TO 4.
2.MANUAL MODE FUNCTION
Move to manual mode from "D" position.
Does it switch to manual mode?
YES - GO TO 3.
NO - Enter a check mark at "Cannot Be Changed to Manual Mode" on the diagnostics worksheet, then continue the road test.
3.CHECK SHIFT-DOWN
During manual mode driving, move gear selector from M5 to M4 to M3 to M2 to M1.
With CONSULT-III
Read the gear position.
Is downshifting correctly performed?
YES - GO TO 6.
Enter a check mark at "A/T Does Not Shift" at the corresponding position (5th to 4th, 4th to 3rd, NO
3rd to 2nd, 2nd to 1st) on the diagnostics worksheet, then continue the road test.
4.CHECK SHIFT-DOWN
1. Confirm overdrive control switch is ON position.
2. Confirm gear selector lever is in "D" position.
3. Accelerate vehicle using half-throttle to D5.
4. Release accelerator pedal.
5. Set overdrive control switch to OFF position while driving in D5.
With CONSULT-III
Read the gear position.
Does A/T shift from D5 to D4 (O/D OFF)?
YES - GO TO 5.
NO - Record the malfunction, then continue the road test.
5.CHECK SHIFT-DOWN
During D4 driving, move gear selector from D to 3 to 2 to 1.
With CONSULT-III
Read the gear position.
Is downshifting correctly performed?
YES - GO TO 6.
NO - Record the malfunction, then continue the road test.
6.CHECK ENGINE BRAKE
Does engine braking effectively reduce speed in M1 position (with manual mode) or 11 position (without manual mode)?
YES - 1. Stop the vehicle.
2. Carry out the self-diagnostics. Refer to CONSULT-III Function (Transmission).
NO - Record the malfunction, then continue the trouble diagnosis.
