Disassembly

1. Disconnect actuating link then remove throttle opener servo diaphragm and bracket assembly, and the dashpot if equipped, Fig. 3.
2. Remove electric choke coil and retainer
3. Disconnect and remove accelerator pump and choke connecting rods, vacuum hoses and throttle return spring noting installation position.
4. Remove screws securing choke chamber, then the choke chamber assembly and gasket
5. Disconnect and remove accelerator pump piston, then remove stroke limiter, actuating lever and spring as needed.
6. Remove float hinge pin, float needle valve and seat assembly, fuel inlet and filter screen.
NOTE: Do not remove choke coil housing assembly, choke plates and/or choke shaft unless repair or replacement is necessary.
7. Remove anti-dieseling solenoid, secondary throttle actuating diaphragm assembly, and the float bowl sight glass.
8. Remove screws securing throttle chamber to main body, then the throttle chamber assembly.
9. Remove concealment plug, rotate idle mixture adjusting screw clockwise until lightly seated recording number of turns necessary, then remove idle mixture adjusting screw, spring washer and seal.
NOTE: Further disassembly of throttle chamber is not necessary unless throttle shafts or linkage levers require repair or replacement
10. Remove main jet well plug retainers, and the primary and secondary main metering jets noting installation position for assembly.
11. Note and record calibration value and installation position for assembly, then remove remaining metering jets, air bleeds, and on DFP-306 carburetors (MPG models), the mixture control solenoid.
12. Remove accelerator pump discharge ball plug spring, weight and check ball, noting position for assembly.
