Fig. 11 Valve removal:
1. Valve assembly and valve spring:
a. Place valve spring seat in position and install valve guide with oil seal, Fig. 11.

b. Assemble valve as follows: valve, inner and outer valve springs, spring retainer, valve collet and valve rocker guide, Fig. 12.
2. Valve rocker pivot assembly:
a. Screw valve rocker pivots joined with locknuts into pivot bushing.
3. Camshaft assembly:
a. Install locating plate and carefully install camshaft in cylinder head. Do not damage the bearing inside. Oblong groove of locating plate must be directed toward front side of engine.

4. Install camshaft sprocket in position marked during disassembly, install fuel pump cam where equipped, and torque bolt to specifications, Fig. 13.

5. Install rocker arms by pressing valve springs down with a screwdriver, Fig. 10.
6. Install valve rocker springs.
7. Rotate camshaft so both valves for 1 cylinder are closed.

PISTON & ROD ASSEMBLY
1. Assemble pistons, piston pins and connecting rods on the designated cylinder. Assemble so that oil jet of connecting rod big end is directed toward right side of cylinder block. Be sure to install piston in cylinders with notch mark of piston head toward front of engine, Fig. 14.

2. Install piston rings. Install top and second rings in right position, with marked side up, Fig. 15.
3. Install bearings on connecting rod and connecting rod cap.
