Electronic Fuel Injection Relay
1. Disconnect ground cable from battery.
2. Remove relay from vehicle.
MAIN RELAY TEST
Before applying test voltage to relay, connect a fuse in series with lead wire to prevent damage to the circuit. If available, use a 7-volt DC in place of 12-volt to test relay operation.
Refer to ``Fuel Pump Relay Test.''
Refer to "Fuel Pump Relay Test" .

FUEL PUMP RELAY TEST
Before applying test voltage to relay, connect a fuse in series with lead wire to prevent damage to the circuit. If available, use a 7-volt DC in place of 12-volt to test relay operation.
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect wiring harness connector and remove relay from vehicle.
3. See Fig. 55 for test connections.
4. Connect ohmmeter between terminals 1 and 2 and terminals 3 and 6. Ohmmeter should show continuity.
5. Connect ohmmeter between terminals 3 and 5. Ohmmeter should not show continuity.
6. Using jumper wires, connect terminals 1 and 2 to battery terminals.
7. Connect ohmmeter between terminals 3 and 5. Ohmmeter should show continuity.
8. Connect ohmmeter between terminals 3 and 6. Ohmmeter should not show continuity.
9. If readings are not as specified, relay is defective.
10. Connect ohmmeter between terminals 1 and 3. Ohmmeter should not show continuity.
11. Connect ohmmeter between terminals 2 and 3. Ohmmeter should show continuity.
12. If readings are not as specified, fuel pump relay-2 is defective.
