Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

Fig. 3 E.C.C.S. Control Unit.:

Electronic Concentrated engine Control System (E.C.C.S.) controls the engine operating conditions (Fuel injection, Idle r.p.m., Ignition timing), sensors, and switches.
The E.C.C.S. self-diagnostic system monitors several input and output signals that are emitted in response to various engine operating and stopping conditions. Input signals are compared to computerized signal values stored in the Central Electronic Control Unit (C.E.C.U.) Fig. 3. The system analyzes electrical signals that are transmitted and emitted from the C.E.C.U.. If there are any abnormalities in the signals a code is stored and must be diagnosed.
The code is determined by the number blinks of both the red and green light emitting diodes (L.E.D.s). First the red L.E.D. blinks and the green follows. The red L.E.D. refers to the tenth digit while the green one refers to the unit digit. For example, When the red L.E.D. blinks three times and the green L.E.D. blinks twice, this implies the number "32". In this way, all problems are classified by code numbers.
