This system shuts off fuel during deceleration at high speeds to improve fuel economy. On 1982-83 models, this system operates when engine speed is above 2200 RPM and the throttle valve is closed. When engine speed drops below 1600 RPM on all 1982 or 1983 models with manual transmission, or below 2000 RPM on 1983 models with automatic transmission, this system will not operate.
