SERVICE PROCEDURE

Replace the two standard back door stays with two gas stays applied to the 1984/85 300ZX Turbo, P/N 90450-01P10 for 2 seater and P/N 90450-04P10 for 4 seater models.

Support the back door open and unbolt the stay at the body. Remove the stay from the door by holding the stay tube and rotating it around the tube's axis. Apply a very small outward force at the same time.

WARNING:

a. Be careful not to scratch back door stay when installing on back door. A scratched stay may cause gas leakage.

b. The contents of the back door stay is under pressure. DO NOT DISASSEMBLE, PUNCTURE OR APPLY HEAT TO IT.

c. When removing stays, the back door must be supported to remain open.

d. Too much outward force may break the ball stud.
