Idle Up Control Valve: Adjustments

1. Start and operate engine until normal operating temperature is obtained.
2. With A/C system OFF, ensure engine idle speed is correct.
3. With A/C system ON, recirculation switch at RECIRC position and fan control lever at HI position, ensure compressor and F.I.C.D. solenoid valve are functioning properly.
4. With A/C system ON, engine idle speed should be 750-850 RPM.
5. If idle speed is not as specified on non-turbocharged models, turn F.I.C.D. adjusting screw until specified speed is obtained.
6. On turbocharged models, F.I.C.D. (A/C-ON) speed is not adjustable. If correct idle speed cannot be obtained, refer to appropriate diagnostic charts under "Manual Heater & A/C System Diagnosis".
