3. Check in-vehicle sensor as follows:
a. The ignition switch must be switched to ACC position.
b. Using a lit cigarette, ensure cigarette smoke is drawn into the in-vehicle sensor when it is near the sensor.
c. After disconnecting the automatic air conditioner harness connector, ensure that there is resistance between terminals 654 and 938 on vehicle harness side. Compare readings with readings given in Fig. 10.
