SERVICE INFORMATION

The exhaust gas sensor warning system for 1985 300ZX, Maxima, Stanza and California Truck models has been modified. Beginning with the Applied VINs above, the warning lamp illuminates at 30,000, 60,000 and 90,000 miles. The warning lamp should be reset at 30,000 and 60,000 miles and then disconnected at 90,000 miles.

On vehicles built prior to the Applied VINs above, the exhaust gas sensor warning lamp illuminates one time at 30,000 miles and should be disconnected. This Technical Bulletin provides new maintenance procedures, wiring diagrams and electrical unit location illustrations for the Applied Models.

Please note that the above modifications were also applied to 1985 200SX and 1985.5 Sentra and Pulsar NX models. Maintenance procedures for the 200SX are contained in the 1985 200SX Service Manual. Maintenance procedures for the Sentra/Pulsar NX models are contained in the 1985 E16 Mid-year Model Change Supplement.
