Installation

1. Install coil assembly on compressor, properly positioning terminals, then install snap ring.
2. Using suitable plastic hammer, drive pulley and bearing assembly onto neck of front cover. Turn pulley to ensure that there is no noise and that pulley turns freely. Ensure that there is no pulley play.
3. Install inner snap ring.
4. Fit key and clutch hub to shaft. Select adjusting spacer that gives correct clearance of 0.020 - 0.031 inch between pulley and clutch hub.
5. Coat shaft nut with Loctite or equivalent and, torque nut to 14 - 15 ft. lbs.
6. Measure clutch hub-to-pulley gap. If gap is not 0.020 - 0.031 inch, replace adjusting spacer and readjust.
7. If compressor clutch assembly was replaced, engage and disengage clutch approximately thirty times for break-in.
