Fuel Gauge Sender: Service and Repair

CAUTION: When replacing fuel parts, observe the following:
a. Put a CAUTION or FLAMMABLE sign in work area.
b. Keep a CO2 fire extinguisher readily available.
c. Disconnect battery negative terminal prior to conducting operations.
d. Put drained fuel in an appropriate, sealed container.

Fuel Tank Components:

1. Remove fuel tank gauge retaining bolts.

Fuel Tank Gauge Unit Removal:

2. Using a suitable wire lift fuel gauge unit straight up off fuel tank.

WARNING: The resistor gauge is made of ceramic material, use care not to bend it.

3. Reverse removal procedures to install. Torque gauge unit retaining bolts to specifications.

Torque Value:
1.7 - 2.2 ftlb (2.3 - 3.0 Nm)
