System Performance Test - Temp & Pressure Relationships

1. The following system performance test must be performed as follows:
a. Vehicle must be parked indoors or in the shade and in a well ventilated place.
b. Vehicle doors must be closed, door windows open and hood open.
c. Temperature lever position must be set to maximum cold.
d. Air control lever position set to FACE.
e. Intake lever position set to RECIRC.
f. Fan lever set at 4.
g. Engine speed at 1500 RPM.

2. The time required to start the test after the air conditioner starts operating should exceed 10 minutes.

Recirculating-to-Discharge Air Temperature Table:

a. The pressure will change in the following manner with changes in conditions:

^ When blower speed is low, discharge pressure will drop.
^ When the relative humidity of intake air is low, discharge pressure will drop.

Ambient Air Temperature To Compressor Pressure Table:

b. The temperature will change in the following manner with changes in conditions:

^ When the ambient air temperature is low, the outlet air temperature will become low.
