System Description Calif.
Fig. 2 Electronic Controlled Carburetor (ECC) System.:
On California models, the Electronic Controlled Carburetor (ECC) System controls the air/fuel ratio under various operating conditions to provide optimum emission control, fuel economy and driveability. The system uses an air/fuel ratio on-off valve in place of a power valve. Various operating conditions are detected by system sensors. The sensors transmit signals to the air-ratio control valve which closes or opens the compensating air bleed and main jet to adjust the air/fuel ratio accordingly.
