Disassembly

Fig. 3 DFE-2832 carburetor exploded view.:

1. Mark and disconnect vacuum hoses, then remove idle speed control actuator, bracket and hoses, Fig. 3.
2. Disconnect accelerator pump connecting rod, then remove upper body retaining screws, upper body and gasket.
3. Remove float hinge pin, float, and the needle valve and seat assembly.
4. Disconnect accelerator pump piston from lever, then remove piston, stroke limiter, lever, spring and washers, noting position for assembly.
5. Force pump piston into well to loosen discharge ball plug, then remove plug, spring and pump discharge check ball.
6. Remove pump piston, spring and inlet check ball from pump well.
7. Remove anti-dieseling solenoid valve and throttle positioner diaphragm capsule.
8. Disconnect connecting link, then remove secondary throttle diaphragm capsule.
9. Remove screws securing throttle switch bracket, switch assembly, float bowl sight glass and seal.
10. Remove throttle chamber retaining screws, chamber assembly and gasket.
11. Remove concealment plug, rotate mixture screw clockwise until lightly seated recording number of screws necessary, then remove mixture screw.
12. Refer to Fig. 3, and disassemble throttle chamber as needed to repair or replace components.
13. Remove air fuel mixture solenoid, main metering jet well plug retainer and the plugs.
14. Record calibration value and installation position, then remove air bleeds, metering jets and venturis.
