Fuel Pressure Check
1. To release fuel pressure proceed as follows:
a. Start engine, then open luggage compartment lid and lift up carpet
b. Disconnect fuel pump wire connector.
c. On Vehicles equipped with electric pump fuses, simply remove fuse.
d. When engine stalls, crank engine two or three times, then place ignition switch in the OFF position.

Fig. 2 Typical fuel pressure gauge installation:
1. Release fuel pressure to zero.
2. Disconnect fuel hose between fuel filter and fuel tube.
3. Install pressure gauge between fuel filter and fuel tube Figs. 1 & 2.
Vacuum/fuel Pressure Test:
4. Start engine and check for fuel leakage.
5. Read the indication of fuel pressure gauge.
Expected Fuel Pressure
At Idle Approximately. 206 kPa (2.1 kg/sq cm, 30 psi)
At Wide Open Throttle (WOT) Approximately. 255 kPa
(2.6 kg/sq cm, 37 psi)
6. Stop engine and disconnect fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose from intake collector.
7. Plug intake collector with a rubber cap.
8. Connect variable vacuum source, Fig. 3, to pressure regulator.
