Engine - Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair

Fig. 82 Water temperture sensor replacement:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove radiator cap.
3. Remove drain plug from radiator to drain approximately 2 qts. of coolant
4. Disconnect radiator upper hose.
5. Disconnect water temperature sensor harness connector.
6. Remove water temperature sensor, Fig. 82.
7. Reverse procedure to install.
CAUTION: When connecting water temperature sensor harness, keep it away from high tension wire.
