Spark Plug Switching Control System

1986 Pickup, 1987-88 Pathfinder & Pickup w/Z24i Engine, 200SX w/CA20E Engine, Stanza, Stanza Wagon & Van

The spark plug switching control system changes the ignition system from a 2-plug to a 1-plug system under heavy load driving conditions in order to reduce engine noise. On Pathfinder & Pickup models, the system will operate in the single plug mode when operating under heavy load with engine speed above 2500 RPM with coolant temperature below 70°F and with engine speed above 2400 RPM with coolant temperature above 70°F. On Stanza and Stanza Wagon, the system will operate in a single plug mode with engine operating under a heavy load and at temperatures above a predetermined value. On all models, under all other driving conditions, the system will operate in the dual plug mode.
