Self-Diagnosis

FUNCTION
^ If each sensor circuit is open or short-circuited, each indicator on control finisher illuminates to indicate open or short circuit.

^ Air mix door position is easily checked by moving temperature lever and measuring Potentio Balance Resistor (PBR) voltage.

CHECKING PROCEDURE
1. Turn on the engine. (At sunny outdoors)
2. Put Potentio Temperature Control (PTC) at 25°C (75°F).

Self-Diagnostic System - Checking Procedure:

3. Open lid of auto amp. and push self-diagnosing switch with slender bar.

Self-Diagnostic Procedure - Sensor Check:

4. Check the lighting indicator.

^ If indicator illuminates, it indicates sensor circuit is open or short circuited. Refer to "Inspection of Sensor" and recheck sensor circuit.

5. Move temp. control lever to position as referred above and measure voltage at check connector. If specified voltage is not obtained, check PTC, PBR, Double Solenoid Vacuum Valve (DSVV), and power servo.
