Potentio Balance Resistor Testing:

POTENTIO BALANCE RESISTOR
1. After disconnecting Potentio Balance Resistor (PBR) connector, ensure that there is resistance between terminals 31 Y and 3 Y/L, and 32 Y/R and 3 on PBR side, using the table.

Ignition switch: OFF

When changing stroke in power servo, start the engine and change the position of Potentio Temperature Control (PTC).

When auto amplifier and PBR are replaced, adjust trimmer in accordance with the following procedures.
1. Turn ignition switch on.
2. Disconnect auto air conditioner harness connector from PBR and measure voltage between terminals of check connector for PBR.

Voltage between terminals of check connector: 4.5-5.5 volts

3. Connect auto air conditioner harness to PBR and set air mix door (PBR) in full hot condition. (Full hot condition can be obtained either by setting PTC at full hot or by disconnecting connector for in-vehicle sensor, etc.)
4. Measure voltage between terminals of check connector again and adjust trimmer so that voltage is half of that measured in step 2.

Voltage between terminals of check connector: 2.25-2.75 volts
