Basic Inspection
Driveability1. Make sure that the following items are in the proper condition.
CHECK DATA
(1) Idle speed
M/T: 800 ± 100 rpm
A/T: 700 ± 100 rpm (in "D" position)
(2) Ignition timing
7° ± 5° B.T.D.C.
(3) Idle CO
3.0-10.0%
(4) Mixture ratio at approximately 2,000 rpm of engine speed.
- Self-diagnosis mode: mode II
- Check the simultaneous flashes of E.C.U. green and red lamps.
(5) Idle switch operation
"ON" at idle position and "OFF" when accelerator pedal is depressed.
2. Perform driving test.
Evaluate effectiveness of adjustments by driving vehicle. During driving test, perform real time diagnostic test.
3. Perform E.C.C.S. self-diagnosis.
4. If the result of driveability test is unsatisfactory, or malfunctioning conditions are found when performing E.C.C.S. self diagnosis and real time diagnostic tests, perform general inspection, electronic system inspection and real time diagnostic inspection by following DIAGNOSTIC TABLE 1 and 2 in response to driveability trouble items. If malfunctioning, repair or replace.
5. Perform ON/OFF diagnostic test on switches.
6. Perform driving test.
Re-evaluate vehicle performance after all the inspections are performed.
