This system is a Direct Ignition System and has no conventional distributor or spark plug cables. Small, very efficient ignition coils are fitted directly to each spark plug.






Ignition timing is controlled, corresponding to the engine operating conditions, by the engine control module. Optimum ignition timing for all normal modes of engine operation have been programmed into the engine control module. The engine control module monitors engine operation and sets ignition timing via the power transistor.
