APPLIED VINs: Pulsar NX SE - From JN1EN34S( )HM - 008144

SERVICE INFORMATION

Beginning with the Applied VINs above, the compressor RPM sensor and magnetic clutch amplifier are no longer required as part of the air conditioning system.

As a result of this change, the main vehicle harness of all Applied Models (factory A/C and non-A/C) is being changed in two steps as follows:

STEP 1: Beginning with the Applied VINs above, a jumper harness has been added to the main vehicle harness connector for the magnetic clutch amplifier (bottom side of the evaporator case in the passenger compartment - see below).
When installing air conditioning in vehicles with the jumper harness, discard the RPM sensor and the magnetic clutch amplifier, as well as the hardware used to mount these parts.

CAUTION: Since the compressor RPM sensor will not be installed, make sure that the vehicle harness connector for the RPM sensor is secured (use an existing tie wrap location) so that the connector will not get caught in the condenser fan.

STEP 2: The main vehicle harness connectors for the magnetic clutch amplifier (passenger compartment) and the RPM sensor (engine compartment) will be eliminated beginning with the following approximate production dates:

Pulsar NX - From 3/87 production
Stanza - From 8/87 production

When installing air conditioning in vehicles with no harness connectors, discard the RPM sensor and the magnetic clutch amplifier, as well as the hardware used to mount these parts.
