SUBJECT: JATCO RN3F01A-RL3F01A

PROBLEM:
Engine Speed Increases (Spin-up) During Up-shifts with the Selector in the Drive Position

POSSIBLE CAUSE:
Broken Back-up Valve Retainer Plate




REPAIR PROCEDURE:
Remove pan, examine the back-up valve retaining plate. If it is broken, replace with new part # 31748-01X01. See Figure 1.

NOTE:
The manufacturer refers to this part as a retaining plate. Its actual appearance is that of a small clip or spring retainer.
