SPECIAL TOOL FOR IGNITION TIMING PULSAR CA 16DE ENGINE



The enclosed special tool, J-36777-1, is designed to allow a convenient and accurate ignition timing check on Nissan Pulsar CA16DE (16 valve) engines. Use the following procedure:

1. With the engine stopped, ignition switch OFF, remove the primary circuit connector from the power transistor unit. (Be careful not to lose the rubber gasket of the connector.)
2. Place the special tool into the circuit by plugging one side into the harness connector, the other side into the power transistor unit.
3. Place the inductive pick-up clamp of your timing light onto the secondary loop of the special tool.
4. Start the engine. Adjust the timing to specification.
5. Stop the engine. Remove the tool and replace the harness.
