SERVICE INFORMATION

Some 1987 Pulsar SE models may exhibit an exhaust resonance noise during cold engine operation. This noise is described as a buzzing noise that sounds similar to a loose muffler baffle plate. It occurs during acceleration between 2500-3500 rpm, during engine warm-up only.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

To eliminate this noise, a new exhaust center tube with pre-muffler has been developed. Order this countermeasure part for use in customer complaint vehicles. Refer to page FE-5 of the 1987 Pulsar Service Manual for additional service information.
