HANDBRAKE CONSOLE GASKET RETENTION
APPLIED MODEL: 1987 Pulsar NX
SERVICE INFORMATION
The handbrake console gasket on some 1987 Pulsars may be loose or pulled out at the forward end. If the gasket has been pulled out for some time, it will remain wavy and unsightly when put back in its proper position. Use the following Service Procedure to correct this condition on incident vehicles.
Console Finisher:
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Remove the console finisher from the console.
2. Cut off the shaded portion of the gasket end as shown below.
3. Insert the gasket end into the finisher and reassemble. The gasket should flatten out as it "remembers" its original shape.
