System Description Non-Calif.
Fig. 6 Electronic Controlled Carburetor (ECC) System.:
On non-California models, the Electronic Controlled Carburetor (ECC) System controls air/fuel ratio and ignition timing to provide optimum emission control, fuel economy and driveability. The system uses a duty-controlled solenoid valve for fuel enrichment and an idle speed control actuator as the basic controls. Several factors, including engine speed, amount of intake air and objective engine speed control these devices. In addition, the air/fuel ratio and ignition timing are controlled according to engine coolant temperature, vehicle speed, atmospheric pressure, transaxle gear position and various electrical loads applied to the system.
