APPLIED MODEL: 1987 Sentra (E16S engine for non-California only). This bulletin does not apply to California models, Coupe models, Hatchback models and 4WD Wagon models.

SERVICE INFORMATION

Beginning with the Applied VINs above, the idle speed control fail-safe system has been modified. This modification results in the elimination of one (1) vacuum switch and one (1) vacuum cut solenoid valve.

This modification affects the following pages of the 1987 Sentra Service Manual (January 1986 and July 1986 printings). The affected pages for the modified fail-safe system are included in this bulletin.

Because there are two (2) types of fail-safe systems, and due to page limitations in the Service manual, amendment pages are not included with this bulletin. Therefore, it is recommended that the following note be added to the affected pages of your Service Manual(s).

Refer to Technical Bulletin EF&EC87-008 (TS87-079) when servicing vehicles with only one (1) vacuum switch and one (1) vacuum solenoid valve.
