SERVICE INFORMATION
When using an ECCS Checker Box (P/N J37368 or MST-4987) to perform self-diagnosis on a 1989 Maxima, the checker box may skip during mode changes and block out certain modes due to the unique programing of the Maxima ECU. To correct this condition, the checker box requires recalibration. After completing the one-time calibration, the checker box will work on all models, including the 1989 Maxima.
In order to provide a simplified method of recalibration, Kent-Moore is offering an update program for the ECCS Checker Box. Kent-Moore will be sending each dealer a box for packaging the unit for shipment. A mailing label will also be included. The unit will be calibrated at the Kent-Moore Service Center and returned within approximately 10 working days.
Your checker box should be packaged in the box provided along with a check for $22.65 and sent to the Kent-Moore Service Center at the address provided below. Shipping both ways is included in the cost.
